Hello! My name is Michele Monseau. I recently earned a Professional Writing and Rhetoric Certificate from the University of Texas at San Antonio. I've always loved writing, so I've decided to take my writing skills to the next level!

I have extensive experience in content creation and project management in the real world and online. After earning my Professional Writing Certificate, I embarked on a career change to technical/professional writing and worked as a technical writer at Philips for two years working on IFUs and as a labeling specialist, along with writing, editing, and formatting using style guides. I worked with teams of SMEs, marketing, regulatory, and project managers to support detail-oriented and accurately researched documentation.

I hold a Masters degree, and I also have extensive experience using Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. I use these skills along with my new writing specialization to create accurate, diligently researched, high-quality content!

Research Report: Risks and Benefits of Co-Existing With Urban Wildlife

I noticed that in my neighborhood, residents were often faced with what many see as problems with urban wildlife. I regularly saw online posts to social media asking what to do about specific encounters, so I decided to research risks and benefits of the most common wildlife encountered in urban areas, and specifically in my immediate locality. I wanted to offer my neighbors fact-based information and humane solutions so I conducted primary and secondary research on the subject. This 20-page research essay is titled Risks and Benefits of Co-existing With Urban Wildlife, and includes an abstract, literature review, background, problem statement, research methods and results, an annotated bibliography and infographics.

Content Strategy Guide for Smith Lab of Avian Ecology

This 37-page report was created with a team to streamline the Smith Lab of Avian Ecology’s online content, using the Cornell Lab of Ornithology as a strong template of comparison. We conducted task-based usability testing, a landscape analysis, created user stories with visuals, and analyzed and synthesized the data into this recommendation report. I was tasked with creating the user stories, doing the UX design, and was a principal writer and editor of the report.
